Marketing to Your
Customer Base is Wise –
Good Customer Service Too!

We often make this point as gently and as tactfully as possible to established auto repair shop owners (other businesses can take heed as well), who say they have a loyal customer base: if you had never lost a customer to another shop, you just might have a customer base of around 10,000. (Wow! That’s only about 8,000 - 9,000 customers more than the average independent repair shops’ normal total.)

The point being is that all businesses lose customers: some move, some "move on," while others move on to other businesses -– because maybe they did not feel (amongst other factors) that their patronage was valued enough, and were easily swayed to another establishment. Many business owners think they do not need to market or advertise, especially to their own customer base, possibly taking their "old" customers for granted. Making use of Thank You & Reminder Cards has a two-fold impact:

1) When mailing Thank You or Reminder Cards, you are target marketing to your own customer base. 2) Saying Thank You or Reminding your customers is good Customer Service; yes, you have gone the "extra mile," which most businesses only give "lip service" to.
